Jackson residents speak out on county’s ICE agreement at commissioners meeting
JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - A packed Jackson County Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday night drew residents on both sides of the debate over the county’s agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Jackson County became the first in Michigan to enter the federal 287(g) program in 2025, allowing trained corrections officers inside the county jail to assist ICE in limited situations involving people already in custody.
